Mikoto employs her iron sand ability to generate a massive construct, unleashing a potent electrical discharge capable of piercing Doppelgänger’s form. In response, Doppelgänger coerces Mikoto into destroying fuel tanks to safeguard civilians, inadvertently revealing the airship’s location. While Ryouko attempts to negotiate with Doppelgänger to locate a method for destroying her soul, she tries to jump to her death but is rescued by the Scavengers. After Misaki and Rita inform Mikoto that Doppelgänger’s power is a type of artificial muscle intended to trigger a citywide explosion, Mikoto confronts her aboard the airship with Rita’s help.
