Academy City hosts the Daihasei Festival, a school sports competition allowing outside visitors. Touma Kamijou and Mikoto Misaka make a bet where the loser obeys the winner, while Touya and Shiina Kamijou meet Misaka Misuzu. Laura contacts Aleister Crowley about magicians seeking the Stab Sword, a weapon capable of killing a Saint. Touma deals with a hungry Index and awkward moments with class representative Seiri Fukiyose. Stiyl and Tsuchimikado warn him about the intruders and to keep Index safe. After being scolded by Seiri following an incident with Index and Komoe Tsukuyomi, Touma encounters Oriana Thomson. His Imagine Breaker reacts to her, revealing she is one of the infiltrating magicians, prompting him to follow her.
