Ep. 1: The Messenger from Iscandar

In 2199, Gamilus attacks have forced humanity underground. To save Earth, Captain Mamoru Kodai distracts enemy forces while the Amaterasu delivers a Wave Motion Activation Core to Mars. Susumu Kodai and Daisuke Shima investigate the crashed ship, finding a deceased alien messenger. They return to Earth on the Kirishima, where Susumu learns of Mamoru’s death. Susumu seeks Captain Juzo Okita to question if the sacrifice was in vain. Yuki Mori directs him to the hospital wing. Susumu confronts Okita, who admits responsibility for leading Mamoru to his death.
