Susumu transports the Wave Motion Activation Core to Earth, facilitating the completion of the BBY-01 Yamato, humanity's first interstellar vessel. Okita serves as captain, Shima as navigator, and Susumu as tactical officer. The crew is tasked with traveling to planet Iscandar in the Great Magellanic Cloud to retrieve a device capable of restoring Earth's environment. Prior to launching this critical journey, the Yamato must defend itself against an incoming Gamilan interplanetary ballistic missile aimed directly at the ship.
