Ep. 9: Inaba reveals multiple futures through door spaces as Ataru and Lum seek their ideal outcome.

Inaba loses a key fortune that allows Shinobu, Lum, and Ataru to access a space of doors. They enter one portal and find themselves in a future where Ataru is with Shinobu, while Lum is inexplicably paired with Rei. Inaba explains that these are just possible futures, showing another where Ran ends up with Rei and Lum with Shutarō. After viewing an unexplained apocalyptic scenario, Inaba instructs them to craft doorknobs to create new timelines. The trio attempts to build their ideal future, but Lum’s doorknob melts. Ataru briefly experiences a harem future, only for Future Lum to abandon him due to his poor treatment. Realizing his desire cost him Lum, the pair eventually discovers a timeline where they successfully end up together.
