During a trip to a resort in the rain, Miyu detects a snakelike shinma. Chisato wanders off and meets a boy waiting for a girl at a swamp shrine, promising to return the next day. Reiha suspects the boy is a shinma, but Miyu disagrees. When Reiha breaks a shrine mirror, the shinma Ja-Ka emerges from the swamp to attack Miyu and the boy. With Larva's assistance, Miyu defeats Ja-Ka and sends him back into the darkness. Despite hints that the boy is also a shinma, he remains devoted to his promise of waiting for the girl to return.
