Chisato invites classmate Miho Arisawa to support her at a singing audition hosted by Takashi Kashiwabara, but he asks Chisato to participate instead. Feeling inadequate, Chisato receives magical red shoes from Kashiwabara, which grant her the confidence to perform for a live audience. After releasing her first record album, she becomes the talk of the school. A jealous Michiko tries to raid Miho's room to steal the shoes but is killed by Kashiwabara. As Miho and Kashiwabara prepare for a concert, Miyu interrupts their session, revealing that the red shoes slowly deplete Miho's life. Kashiwabara transforms into a shinma named Kyo-Koh, and Miyu banishes him into the darkness. Miyu then puts Miho into an eternal sleep so she can dream of her stardom, though she can never remove the red shoes without risking death.
