Joe and Junior search for Jadow in a new town and encounter a novel toy called a Slugoon, a slug-like device worn on the head that grants the user near-omnipotence through verbal commands. The local children, along with Junior, fall under the influence of these devices and turn violent against their parents and Joe. Joe outsmarts the villain controlling the children by persuading him to order them to stand upright, which dislodges the Slugoons and breaks the mind control. With the threat neutralized, Joe defeats the antagonist and restores peace to the town, successfully resolving the crisis without further harm.
