Ep. 19: Thorfinn defeats Thorkell in a duel, leading Canute to declare war on King Sweyn.

Thorfinn suffers injuries from Thorkell but receives medical care from Askeladd. Thorkell reveals his familial connection to Thorfinn, explaining that his brother Sigvaldi gave him Helga, and that Thors, presumed dead after Hjörungavágr, actually left the Jomsvikings with her. The fight resumes until Askeladd blinds Thorkell, allowing Thorfinn to gouge out an eye and win the duel. Thorkell halts his men from killing Thorfinn, acknowledging the victory. Canute arrives and informs Thorkell that King Sweyn has chosen Harold as successor, leaving Canute with no value as a hostage. Resolute, Canute announces his march against the king at Gainsborough. Both Askeladd and Thorkell agree to support his campaign, shifting their allegiance to Canute’s cause.
