Ep. 1: Souta Takanashi joins Wagnaria and faces manager Kyouko Shirafuji and Mahiru Inami.

Popura Taneshima, a small high school student, is tasked by her manager to recruit new staff for the Wagnaria family restaurant. She recruits Souta Takanashi, a classmate who accepts the position and adapts quickly to the workplace environment. Souta encounters various employee quirks but offends manager Kyouko Shirafuji with a remark about her age, resulting in her assigning him excessive work duties. During a shift, he meets Mahiru Inami, a female coworker he has not previously encountered. Mahiru suffers from a severe fear of men and immediately punches Souta in the face upon their first interaction, marking the beginning of his challenging employment experience at the restaurant.
