After a day trip, Kanae and her friend wait for a train and visit a shopping plaza. They encounter a boy and later townspeople repeatedly waving and saying "Bye-bye," which disturbs them. Exhausted, they enter a café where customers also wave goodbye. Kanae feels possessed by an unknown force while her friend tries to call for help. A crowd surrounds them, and Kanae faints. The friend demands answers but is told to say goodbye. Kanae becomes fully possessed, and the entity bids her farewell. The friend wakes up in a hospital, where a doctor explains they were found unconscious and suggests heat-induced hallucinations. She denies this, but the doctor begins repeating "Bye-bye."
