During midsummer, a man records workplace grievances in his diary while hearing a persistent buzzing sound. Although he sees no insects, the noise returns, prompting him to use repellent coils. Days later, moth disturbances lead him to kill them with spray and fire, finding satisfaction in the act. As his complaints about rain and itching intensify, he notices maggots crawling from under his eyelids in the mirror. His writing becomes increasingly incoherent and violent, reflecting his deteriorating mental state. The room descends into chaos as he suffers from hallucinations. He is eventually found dead at his desk with an exploded head, an insect emerging from his mouth. His final diary entry is a messy scrawl reading "Help me..."
