Ken travels to his family's hometown for a funeral, observing the mourners' unusually cheerful demeanor. Inside, the atmosphere becomes heavy as guests enter a candlelit room to confess sins to the corpse. An older man admits to impregnating the deceased's wife, followed by a young woman who confesses to damaging his plum tree. Ken learns this is a "Farewell Confessional" designed to absolve secrets kept during life. Pressured to participate, Ken struggles to find a secret, eventually confessing to accidentally killing the deceased's dog. As he leaves, believing the ritual complete, a sudden gust extinguishes the candles. The corpse then sits up and angrily demands confirmation of Ken's confession, revealing the ritual's true nature.
