The narrator complains about having caught a cold and mentions sending his sister out to run errands. However, when the door opens, Yatogame enters instead of his sister. He is confused by her presence in his room and unsettled by her declaration that she will do as she pleases. While he anxiously waits to understand her intentions, Yatogame returns carrying a pot of miso-stewed udon. To his surprise, she also brings rice, which he considers unnecessary to accompany the udon noodles. The situation leaves him bewildered by her actions and the unexpected meal combination.
