The episode begins with a replay of Fujiko’s victory over Tohdoh, as Nagoromo strengthens his bond with the Kato Chu director. Matsuda fears Yawara will intentionally lose to her best friend Fujiko, a sentiment Shinnosuke supports by interpreting Yawara’s smile as a sign she only came to All Japan to support Fujiko morally.
