Ep. 106: Fujiko faces Yawara in a decisive match while Matsuda worries about her reluctance.

The episode begins with a replay of Fujiko’s victory over Tohdoh, as Nagoromo strengthens his bond with the Kato Chu director. Matsuda fears Yawara will intentionally lose to her best friend Fujiko, a sentiment Shinnosuke supports by interpreting Yawara’s smile as a sign she only came to All Japan to support Fujiko morally. Jigoro also hopes for Yawara’s defeat to ensure Fujiko fights with full spirit. During the contest, Fujiko reflects on how judo changed her life after meeting Yawara, feeling like she is performing ballet at her peak. She attacks first based on Jigoro’s advice but is quickly defeated, yet she remains happy to discover her friend’s true strength. Contrary to predictions, Yawara does not hold back and easily throws Fujiko. Matsuda realizes he underestimates Yawara, who ended the match early out of kindness to avoid humiliating her friend. Yawara apologizes to her boss, unaware his job is secure due to his sincere connection with the Kato Chu director. Jigoro informs Yuutenji that plans to recruit Yawara to Saikai University must be paused.
