After Hanazono defeats the massive Yaegashii to reach the semifinals, he struggles with stage fright before the finals. Fujiko attempts to attend but is delayed by train issues, arriving only as the match against Saikai University’s Inagaki begins. The Saikai team misidentifies Hanazono’s name multiple times. Although Hanazono starts strong, Inagaki gains the upper hand while Fujiko watches from hiding. Hearing Fujiko’s encouragement near the end, Hanazono manages a yuko but fails to secure an ippon, resulting in a loss. He cries on the stadium roof, where Fujiko finds him and declares him the world’s greatest champion.
