Four Mitsuba judo members arrive to support Fujiko and Yawara. In Hokkaido, Kato Chu director bonds with a disinhibited Hagoromo. Fujiko wins her quarterfinal against Shiraishi. Before Yawara faces Sayaka in the semi-final, Shinnosuke suffers nightmares of marrying Sayaka and meets rival President Ohtaguro of Tsurukame Travel, both secretly wanting Yawara to win for different reasons. Yawara scores a quick yuko but expends energy defending against a confident Sayaka, who waits for an opening to use her secret weapon. Matsuda observes Yawara’s serious expression, reminiscent of her home match against Jody.
