Yawara and her new college friends attend a two-day golf camp where she demonstrates natural talent. In contrast, Itou Fujiko struggles with the sport and endures ridicule from men regarding her height. During the trip, Yawara encounters Hanazono, who is training with the Ebitendou judo club nearby. Hanazono and his teammates interrupt a coed mixer to ask if Yawara has abandoned judo for golf. Later, Yawara spends time with Fujiko, who reveals her past as a junior ballet dancer whose career was halted by her inherited stature. Meanwhile, Jigoro informs Yawara that he has entered her in the upcoming World Judo Cup, where she will compete against world-class judokas.
