Following Joey's loss, Yami travels to Paradias headquarters and discovers Mai has lost her soul. There, he encounters Rafael, who admits to dueling Mai and issues a challenge to Yami. Meanwhile, Téa and Tristan join forces with Kaiba and Mokuba to proceed toward Dartz’s headquarters. During the ensuing duel, Yami pleads with Rafael to refrain from using the Seal of Orichalcos. Despite these warnings, Rafael proceeds to activate the seal, altering the course of their battle.
