Dartz explains Atlantis history, the Orichalcos madness, and his wife's death to Yami and Kaiba. He sought to purge humanity via the Great Leviathan to restore paradise but was stopped by the three Legendary Dragons and former King Ironheart. During the duel, Dartz activates the Orichalcos Dueteros layer. He uses Mirror Knight Calling to summon four Mirror Knights containing the souls of Yugi, Joey, Pegasus, and Mai. Destroying these knights risks the permanent loss of those souls.
