The priests reunite with the Pharaoh and his companions to pursue Thief King Bakura to Kul Elna, a ruined settlement inhabited by the vengeful spirits of its deceased residents. The Pharaoh enters the village alone to confront Bakura but is soon accompanied by the spirit of Mahad, who appears as the Dark Magician. In response, Bakura summons Diabound, which has evolved following its previous encounter with Slifer. As the conflict intensifies, Mana awakens the immense magical abilities of her spirit beast, the Dark Magician Girl, and rushes to assist the Pharaoh in the battle.
