Priest Seto and Karim arrive to defend the Pharaoh against Thief King Bakura, who feigns retreat to trap them and defeat Slifer. Yugi and allies appear just in time, empowering the Pharaoh to summon the Winged Dragon of Ra. However, Yami Bakura harnesses Zorc's immense dark power to reverse time, ensuring Yugi never arrives. Consequently, the Pharaoh is defeated, Thief King Bakura seizes the Millennium Puzzle, and the Pharaoh falls into the chasm.
