Rinko seeks guidance from the dream hall after Touko sacrifices herself due to guilt over her father Michiaki’s death. Hajime warns against the ritual’s dangers, creating tension between the two. Meanwhile, Touko reflects on her past, where Michiaki’s grief and affection contributed to a dysfunctional dynamic that led to his fatal protection of her from a nightmare. This trauma left Touko as an anemic recluse. Rinko rushes to save Touko, who is about to extinguish her life force along with the nightmare. Guided by Michiaki’s advice that dreams are honest but not evil, Touko uses this insight to defeat the nightmare. She then teaches the other Yume Tsukai to embrace their dreams as valuable assets rather than fears.
