Ep. 9: Colbert's Past Revealed as Agnès Confronts the Man Who Destroyed Her Town

Colbert and Saito plan to rescue hostages by entering a building with Benubiro’s help. Benubiro reveals his captain burned D'Angleterre, then recognizes Colbert as Snake of the Flame. They fight fiercely while Agnès attacks Colbert. Benubiro fires a lethal fireball at Agnès to stop her, but Colbert shields her and is hit. Agnès kills Benubiro for her town, then realizes Colbert saved her. He explains he destroyed D'Angleterre due to a false plague report, finding only Agnès alive. Kirche, Louise, and Saito arrive as Agnès raises her sword to strike Colbert. He dies before she can deliver the blow. Louise and Saito mourn their teacher, reading his letter about wanting to see Saito’s world, while Agnès remains undecided about forgiving him.
