After retrieving the Triple SSS from Major Ralph, Van and Fiona travel to Lumiere Island for a swim arranged by Dr. D. While relaxing, Van searches for Fiona, who is being psychologically tortured by Reice using psycho waves. Dr. D shows Van an operations room where his subordinates monitor the lost city of the Ancient Zoidians. He explains that the city emerges when two moons align, causing sea levels to drop dramatically every 60 years. As an eclipse begins and the city is unveiled, Reice attacks Van with a decoy Double Sworder and later traps him underwater with a Hammerhead.
