Upon returning from Lumiere Island after defeating the Hammerhead, Van reaches a base near the Geno Saurer's cocoon. Imperial soldiers discover and arrest Raven, who is subsequently interrogated by Major Schubaltz. Observers note the cocoon is evolving, prompting Republican and Imperial forces to join forces for a joint assault to destroy it. The attack fails because the glowing cocoon diverts all firepower, similar to the Shield Liger's cocoon. Consequently, the combined fleet, which includes mixed Imperial Zoids, Red Horns, Iron Kongs, Molgas, and Heldigunners, decides to wait until the Geno Saurer hatches before launching a second assault.
