Ep. 4: Natsume cares for a hatching rare baby spirit Tatsumi while facing a dangerous spirit.

Natsume finds an abandoned egg in a nest and assumes it is ordinary, unaware it belongs to a Youkai. Upon hatching, the creature reveals itself as Tatsumi, a rare baby spirit who immediately identifies Natsume as its parent. Natsume develops a strong attachment to the child despite Tatsumi becoming increasingly tired and ill. While Natsume provides care, a mysterious spirit arrives with the intent to take Tatsumi away for their master, who plans to eat the young spirit.
