Nozomu Itoshiki observes that Japanese society often prefers intentionally reduced performance, comparing it to baseball stadium design. He notes that Kafuka finds comfort in such detuned products over cutting-edge ones. Later, he critiques the habit of offering false comfort through phrases like "not bad," warning this acts as mini-propaganda that misleads others. In the final segment, Nozomu refuses to teach after being rejected by a Kyoto restaurant for being a first-time customer. He considers how the Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei anime might deter new viewers, so he attempts to create a first-time-friendly episode. However, he becomes annoyed by constant questions from newcomers. When he tries inviting only regular audiences, he finds they know too much. Consequently, he decides to reject both groups, leaving him without students for the period.
