After a conflict with her mother, Keito leaves home without a destination. She assists an elderly woman with her bags and is offered a place to stay. She begins rebuilding her life. Keito spends time working at a record store and creating a comic featuring a black jazz singer named Angie. There, she meets Niki, a trumpet player in a funk band, and they become romantically involved. However, Niki clarifies that she is not seeking a committed relationship, though Keito remains determined to pursue something more.
