At the close of the Joseon era, in a village near the borders of Joseon, Russia, and China, a man named Mu Myeong lives in quiet seclusion, having left behind a history of violence. A pale Russian girl, likened to a birch branch, unexpectedly enters his life, prompting him to return to the chaos he once fled. As he becomes entangled in danger once more, a blade gleams in the twilight over a blood-soaked landscape. The girl’s true nature remains uncertain, as the birch tree’s branches are said to be untrustworthy.
