A summer beach trip becomes a turning point for two individuals dealing with personal grief. Yoshihiro Matsunaga, a teacher supervising high school students, rescues one of them, Nao Morisawa, from a suicide attempt. Nao had previously been on the same trip with her fiancé, who died in a plane crash. As Yoshihiro and Nao interact, it becomes clear that both carry emotional burdens from their pasts. A mysterious girl, referred to as the "Umi Warabe," appears at key moments, observing their experiences.
