Zero no Tsukaima

Louise, a student at Tristein Academy, struggles with magic and is known as "Zero Louise" for her repeated failures. As part of a required test, she must summon a familiar, a magical companion for magicians. Hoping for a powerful ally to impress others, she instead summons Saito, an ordinary Japanese man. Neither Louise nor Saito is happy with the arrangement, but they are unable to change it—Louise cannot try again, and Saito cannot go back to Japan. They are forced to live together despite their mutual reluctance. The story is adapted from a novel by Noboru Yamaguchi.
