Deguchi goes to Onoda's house intending to offer comfort. After asking Onoda on a date and receiving a response, Deguchi abruptly departs. Onoda assumes the encounter was a joke and is confused by Deguchi's behavior. When he eventually understands that Deguchi was genuine about the invitation, Onoda asks for time to think it over.
