Hidamari no Ki

In the mid-1800s, two young men in Edo's Koishigawa navigate a time of social change. Manjiro Ibutani is a low-ranking samurai with skill in swordsmanship and a strong sense of justice. Ryoan Tezuka, who later became a doctor, is more carefree, enjoys the company of women, and is eager to pursue medicine. Their contrasting personalities develop against the backdrop of the final years of the Tokugawa Period. The story is based on real historical figures, with Tezuka being the great-grandfather of Osamu Tezuka. The events take place during the Second Year of Ansei (1855).
