Haikara-san ga Tooru

In the 1920s, a spirited and independent girl named Benio interacts with a half-German soldier named Shinobu. Initially, Benio strongly dislikes Shinobu, despite his help in several awkward situations. She is later informed that she is to be married, and her groom is Shinobu. The narrative follows the evolving dynamic between the two as Shinobu is deployed for war and Benio deals with the challenges of impending marriage, adjusting to her future in-laws, and her job. The looming threat of the Great Kanto earthquake adds to the backdrop of their unfolding relationship.
