Haru flees Cyan Pile’s assault, losing an arm and a foot to Takumu’s rage-fueled strikes. Cornered in a basement, Haru finds Kuroyukihime’s sleeping avatar and draws strength from its heartbeat. This realization unlocks wings, making him the first flying Brain Burst avatar. He returns to confront Takumu, not to defeat him, but to spare his Burst Linker status and invite him as an ally. Following this, Kuroyukihime reveals her true avatar, Black Lotus, to the spectators, shocking everyone who believed she was gone. Later, Haru visits Kuroyukihime in the hospital, where she requests that he address her by her first name.
