Misuzu’s curse intensifies, causing her to forget Haruko and behave strangely by playing cards alone and avoiding the outdoors. Haruko feels depressed but strives to restore Misuzu’s lost memories. Misuzu’s birth father then arrives and attempts to take her away, allowing Misuzu to choose whom she wants to live with. Desperate due to the memory loss, Haruko begs the father to let her keep Misuzu for three more days. He agrees to this temporary arrangement, giving Haruko a brief window to reconnect with her before the final decision is made regarding Misuzu’s future living situation.
