He learns their goal is to overthrow the corrupt prime minister and establish a democratic government. Tatsumi accepts their offer to join. He is paired with Akame for training, which involves cooking and fishing, causing his frustration. His first mission is to assassinate Captain Ogre, a corrupt security force captain. After succeeding, he reports back. Akame inspects him to verify he is not lying about his wounds to save pride, as they would be fatally poisoned. She confirms his honesty. Tatsumi is officially accepted into Night Raid. He is then told he will be trained by Mine next, which displeases him due to their previous conflict.
