Ep. 5: Tatsumi trains with Sheele and encounters Seryu while seeking a resurrection Imperial Arm.

Tatsumi wakes from a dream about Sayo and Ieyasu to find Sheele, who becomes his mentor for the day. After intense training, he learns of her past struggles and joins Night Raid, fostering mutual sympathy. He attempts to use Zank's Spectator, recovered from the previous episode, but it rejects him. Upon learning that collecting Imperial Arms is a top priority for Night Raid, Tatsumi declares his goal to find an Imperial Arm capable of resurrecting the dead, only to be devastated by the revelation that such an item cannot exist. Sheele comforts him at the graves of Sayo and Ieyasu. The following day, Tatsumi and Leone patrol a marketplace but become separated. Tatsumi is assisted by Seryu, an Imperial Guard member with a dog-like biological Imperial Arm named Coro, who guides him back before departing. It is revealed that Seryu’s mentor was Captain Ogre, and she seeks vengeance for his death.
