Aldnoah.Zero Part 2

Inaho awakens Aldnoah powers after Asseylum's blood grants him control over the Deucalion.

Nineteen months after the Saazbaum Landing Castle incident, the Vers Empire, led by Slaine and Princess Asseylum, expands its conquest across North and South America. A UFE raiding party is ambushed by Slaine in the Tharsis. On Earth, the Deucalion crew faces the Frozen Elysium, a Martian Kataphract that freezes targets instantly. Inaho arrives in the KG-6 Sleipnir, using airburst grenades to breach the freezing field and defeat the enemy. Flashbacks reveal that after being shot, Inaho ingested Asseylum's blood, granting him Aldnoah Drive activation powers. This ability allowed him to reactivate the Deucalion despite its lack of power. With repairs finished, the Deucalion launches into space. Meanwhile, the Princess delivering war speeches to the Vers Empire is revealed to be Lemrina, disguised as Asseylum under Saazbaum's orders. Slaine visits the real Asseylum, who remains alive in a medical tank.

UFE forces prepare for assault on Marineros while Slaine and Lemrina resolve internal conflicts before battle.

UFE troops assemble at Trident Base in Earth's orbit to launch a major operation against Vers-owned Marineros. Saazbaum mobilizes his forces for a rapid strike on Trident during this transit. Slaine discovers Lemrina has disabled the Tharsis Aldnoah Drive and successfully persuades her to reactivate it. Lemrina then visits her unconscious sister while plotting to assume her role. As Martian forces initiate their attack and UFE units fortify nearby asteroids, Inaho utilizes his cybernetic eye to destroy multiple enemies. Slaine employs the Tharsis to predict incoming shell trajectories, narrowly evading them. The Martian fleet passes the base, allowing Inaho and Slaine to acknowledge they have engaged in combat.

Vers Empire forces prepare for battle while Slaine is adopted by Saazbaum.

UFE and Vers forces prepare for battle on their respective asteroid bases. Magbaredge confirms with Inaho that it wasn't Asseylum's blood alone that gave him the ability to activate Aldnoah Drives, but something that was transferred when he gave her CPR. Meanwhile, other Counts of the Vers Empire show open contempt at Slaine for being a Terran, but before they harm him, Saazbaum abruptly announces that he is adopting Slaine as his son and legal heir. Finally, Trident and Marineros bases are close enough that the two sides begin their attacks. Inaho shoots down several enemy spacecraft and eventually runs into Slaine again, confirming that he is somehow able to accurately predict the near future like himself. Saazbaum appears in his refurbished Dioscuria II, and mentions that his shield's weak spot is different from last time as he chases down Inaho. With Inaho's help, Inko manages to disable the Dioscuria II's shield just as a micrometeoroid shower hits it, disabling the Kataphract. Slaine then tells Saazbaum that the shower was actually his own work, using Tharsis' systems to accurately pinpoint where Saazbaum would be two minutes in the future so he could destroy him as revenge for shooting Asseylum. After a second micrometeoroid shower finishes off Saazbaum, Slaine becomes a Count of the Vers Empire while Inaho confirms from Slaine's speech that Asseylum is alive.

Yuki and Marito reunite with the crew after intercepting Count Mazuurek in Yemen.

Yuki and Marito serve in a UFE squadron in Yemen when they learn the Deucalion is arriving. On the Moon, Slaine reaffirms loyalty to Lemrina and discusses inheriting Saazbaum's position with Harklight. Fearing suspicion from other Vers Knights, he seeks their respect. Opposing knights order Count Mazuurek to attack, despite his desire to preserve Earth's resources. Mazuurek deploys his Kataphract, which uses artificial gravity waves for defense. Yuki and Marito intercept but cannot breach his shields. Marito identifies a vulnerability from above and lures Mazuurek into position for Inaho to strike from orbit. The Kataphract is disabled and Mazuurek captured. The Deucalion lands, allowing the reunion. However, the crew discovers Slaine destroyed Trident Base alone. Slaine gains respect and silences critics, while Inaho realizes he must defeat him.

Inaho helps Mazuurek escape while Marylcian challenges Slaine to a duel.

On Earth, Count Mazuurek remains imprisoned by the UFE as Yuki and Marito reunite with Deucalion comrades. Inaho discloses his self-customized cybernetic left eye to Doctor Yagarai, who warns of potential brain issues. After finding common ground with Mazuurek regarding Princess Asseylum, Inaho and Rayet smuggle him into the desert, offering his return in exchange for locating the real Asseylum and uncovering Slaine’s true objective. Inko observes this but does not report it. Meanwhile, at the Vers Moon base, Count Marylcian tells Lemrina, disguised as Asseylum, that she is a caged bird. Marylcian then arrives personally to challenge Slaine to a duel for the Royal Guard honor, refusing to forgive him for being Terran.

Deucalion destroys Kataphract while Slaine defeats Marylcian and Lemrina declares independence

UFE forces engage a Martian Knight whose Kataphract fires lasers, blocking close approaches. Inaho directs artillery from the Deucalion, using traditional shells that arc over Earth's curvature to avoid laser counterattacks. The Deucalion destroys the Vers Kataphract with a direct hit. Inko confronts Inaho about freeing Mazuurek, and he admits his actions to protect her. Meanwhile, Slaine duels Count Marylcian at the Moon base. Marylcian's Herschel deploys unmanned drones, straining the Tharsis. Slaine lures Marylcian into a tunnel, destroying the drones and killing him. Slaine awards the Herschel to Harklight and seizes Marylcian's assets. Lemrina, posing as Asseylum, announces a new independent Martian kingdom and her marriage to Slaine. She visits the comatose Asseylum, considers ending her life support, but spares her. After Lemrina leaves, Asseylum begins to regain consciousness.

Slaine consolidates Martian Knight power while the Deucalion faces three enemy knights.

Lemrina, disguised as Asseylum, commands the Martian Knights to unite under Slaine, who gains control of Aldnoah activation. As Asseylum regains consciousness, Slaine and Eddelrittuo enjoy the moment, but Slaine hides this from Lemrina, claiming her condition worsened. Lemrina pledges loyalty, making Slaine uneasy about his deception. Meanwhile, the recovering Asseylum recalls memories of Inaho, upsetting Slaine, who resolves to proceed with his plans. On Earth, the Deucalion assaults a Landing Castle and gains an advantage until two Martian Knights arrive as reinforcements. The crew faces an unprecedented situation of being attacked by three Martian Knights simultaneously. Inaho deduces that such coordinated organization could only exist under Slaine’s direction.

Inaho Navigates Damaged Deucalion While Mazuurek Exposes Imposter Lemrina

UFE forces escape three Martian Knights with Deucalion help, but navigation fails. Inaho uses his cybernetic eye to steer, causing pain from overuse. HQ orders renewed attacks, displeasing the crew. On the Moon, Count Mazuurek identifies disguised Lemrina as an imposter due to inconsistencies about Earth. Convinced Inaho is correct, Mazuurek infiltrates Slaine’s castle and returns Asseylum’s pendant to Edelrittuo. Slaine stresses over hiding Asseylum’s recovery and lying to her, wondering if this is punishment for losing faith. Lemrina notices Slaine’s distance and finds Asseylum missing from her tank. Edelrittuo returns the pendant to Asseylum, triggering full memory recovery.

Inaho battles Martian Knights using quantum teleportation countermeasures while Asseylum faces political arrest.

With the Deucalion undergoing repairs, Inaho and his squad assault the Martian Knights without support. Inaho devises strategies against their Kataphracts, quickly defeating two opponents. The third knight presents a greater challenge, as his Kataphract utilizes quantum teleportation to multiply. Inaho determines that destroying all copies simultaneously is the only solution. He connects to every UFE Kataphract via his eye to manually control their targeting systems, successfully eliminating all Martian units. However, this overuse causes Inaho to suffer pain. Meanwhile, the repaired Deucalion receives orders for a new space mission. On the Moon, Lemrina confronts a recovered Asseylum, revealing Slaine’s actions during her unconsciousness. Asseylum attempts to arrest Slaine, but he claims Vers citizenship renunciation exempts him from her authority. Slaine then places both women under house arrest upon learning Count Klancain, Cruhteo’s son, has arrived from Vers.

Slaine tries to persuade Klancain to join his side, but the loyalist remains skeptical of the Emperor's daughter. The UFE initiates a two-part operation to kill Asseylum, sending the Deucalion to attack Slaine's castle while a second force assaults the Moon Base. Inaho anticipates covert infiltrators and enters the base on foot. Inside, fighting erupts between infiltrators and guards, separating Asseylum, Lemrina, and Edelrittuo. Lemrina stays behind, allowing Asseylum and Edelrittuo to flee toward the landing bay. Inaho confronts Slaine, leading to a brief gunfight before Inaho escapes but collapses from injuries. His artificial eye takes control, revealing his deep bond with Asseylum to her. She reciprocates the sentiment and requests a favor. The eye directs Asseylum to an airlock for extraction by Inko. At the airlock, the pair is cornered by a UFE commando, who is then killed by Klancain, who introduces himself to Asseylum.

Asseylum broadcasts peace plan while Slaine orders simultaneous Orbital Knight attacks on UFE forces.

Klancain evacuates Asseylum to his ship despite Slaine’s objections, prompting Slaine to unsuccessfully urge her return. Edelrittuo directs Asseylum to Mazuurek, who offers shelter in his landing castle to repay a debt to Inaho. Seeking to end the conflict, Asseylum contacts her grandfather, the Emperor, but finds his physical and mental decline prevents him from ruling. Meanwhile, Inaho awakens and escapes the Moon Base with Inko’s help. The UFE temporarily withdraws to regroup for a final assault on the base. Slaine, aware of the impending attack, orders every Orbital Knight on Earth to strike simultaneously to destroy the UFE completely. Before these orders can be executed, Asseylum interrupts by broadcasting a message to both factions, declaring her ascension as Empress of Vers to foster peace between Earth and Vers, and announcing her marriage to Klancain.

Slaine surrenders after Harklight's destruction and Inaho saves him, leading to a peace treaty.

Following Asseylum’s speech, the Orbital Knights halt their assault due to confusion. Slaine orders the Moon Base evacuation and surrender to the UFE, but Harklight disobeys, leading to the destruction of his forces during a charge against the Deucalion. With nothing left to lose, Slaine pilots the Tharsis to fight Inaho in single combat. Both mechs sustain heavy damage, but Inaho wins narrowly. As the Tharsis falls toward Earth, Inaho grabs it to stabilize the descent and save Slaine. Later, Earth and Vers sign a peace and trade agreement involving Aldnoah technology. Slaine is publicly blamed for the assassination attempt and reported dead, but he is secretly imprisoned. He asks Inaho why he was spared, learning that Inaho acted on Asseylum’s wish to save him. Realizing Asseylum still cares for him, the series concludes with Asseylum, Inaho, and Slaine smiling toward the future.
