Matilda, the princess of Sou Beil, visits the capital of Roxche in secret while traveling on a reserved train accompanied by Travas' team as her guards. Meanwhile, Allison and Lillia board a different train for a sightseeing excursion, although Allison’s true motive is to see Travas again. Their train unexpectedly breaks down during the journey. The train carrying Matilda and Treize halts adjacent to the disabled carriage. Following a brief discussion, all passengers from the broken-down train are permitted to transfer to the functional one. Later, Treize and Lillia encounter each other midway while heading separately for tea, prompting Lillia to demand an explanation for his presence on this specific train.
