He befriends fellow student Kon Shinonome, who suddenly vanishes. Later, while crossing a bridge within the simulation, Tokidoki is attacked by a Nue and loses an eye. He remains helpless until a female samurai named Kuchiha arrives to save him. Upon regaining consciousness, Tokidoki discovers that he may have actually been transported to the real Edo time period rather than remaining in the virtual simulation.

Enraged by his interference, Kuchiha scolds him. Refusing to let the samurai escape, Tokidoki persuades Shinonome and watchman Heihachi to assist in a prank against one of the men. He employs knowledge from his own era to execute the plan and teach the samurai a lesson.
