Xiang Ying experiences visions of Kaori’s past, hearing Kaori describe herself as a stray dog adopted by the Makimura family. In the vision, Ryo spares Kaori’s life. After leaving the clinic, Ryo meets Hideyuki, who lets him go. Ryo warns Hideyuki about danger and reveals he was originally sent to kill him but abandoned that mission after meeting Kaori. He then chooses to join Hideyuki as a sweeper. The vision continues, showing Kaori naming Ryo Saeba from a list of fake identities and accepting Xiang Ying as their daughter. Xiang Ying eventually wakes up and shares her dream about Kaori-mama with Ryo.
