Ep. 5: Haruna and Kirishima investigate Makie Osakabe and the Vibration Warhead at Iwo Jima

The I-401 returns to Yokosuka to retrieve the Vibration Warhead before heading to Iwo Jima. Haruna meets Makie Osakabe, who rescued her, and Kirishima creates a spare body from a Teddy bear using nanomachines. Takao arrives early at Iwo Jima but faces an unknown attack. Learning Makie is linked to the deceased Vibration Warhead creator Toujuurou Osakabe, Haruna and Kirishima contact Kongou to investigate. They meet Toujuurou, who is alive but bedridden. He explains that Makie is the surviving offspring of his project to create an artificial being with superior intellect, and she is the true creator of the warhead. Having faked his death to protect her, Toujuurou asks the ships to care for Makie. However, the army knows Makie contacted Fog ships and sends a unit to eliminate her.
