Sinbad, son of a Baghdad merchant, and friend Hassan infiltrate a royal palace party. Hassan knocks over a vase, angering the king who orders their execution. The queen intervenes, and Sinbad is imprisoned in the cellar. There, he dreams of a girl named Shera. His uncle Ali, a sea captain, returns and gives him a talking bird named after the dream girl. The next morning, as Ali departs, Sinbad hides on the ship, leaving his concerned parents behind.
