While exploring a barren island, Sinbad discovers a giant egg belonging to a massive bird. He secretly ties himself to the creature's leg and is carried away when it flies off to forage. This journey deposits him in an exitless chasm on a different island, which is inhabited by giant snakes. Sinbad realizes the chasm holds an endless supply of diamonds. He observes merchants who use meat to lure the gems and employ eagles to transport them out. Taking advantage of this method, Sinbad attaches himself to a piece of meat and is lifted to safety. Once the eagle is driven away, he shares his collected diamonds with the merchants, who assist him in his travels. He is soon reunited with Shera.
