Ep. 9: Ryu reunites with former mentor Kitakata at a bar while confronting his past trauma.

Miwa invites Ryu to a secret location, but they end up at the North Wind bar, run by Kitakata, Ryu’s former senpai whom he has not seen for eight years. Kitakata serves a potent Bloody Caesar to a client, leading to a dispute about the drink's strength. Kitakata reveals the client is a victim of trafficking who now scams patrons. Later, Ryu prepares Caipirinhas for Kitakata and her companion at Edenhall, impressing Kitakata. He then visits their mentor, Goro Kase, in the hospital, where Kase asks if Ryu is still searching for the Glass of God. Miwa confronts Kitakata about Ryu refusing to work for the Cardinal Hotel. Kitakata explains that Ryu blames himself for a client's death after winning a cocktail competition in Europe and returned to Japan to live in obscurity.
