Ep. 11: Bar Kaze: A heartfelt recipe honoring Goro Kase and resolving a family secret

Hospitalized Goro Kase takes a brief leave, prompting Kitakata and Ryu to open Bar Kaze for a single day. Former colleagues gather to pay respects as Kase serves drinks, including flaming vodka shots for deceased patrons. Ryu reflects on Kase’s influence, realizing bartending is a chosen lifestyle rather than mere employment. Later, Miwa seeks help finding a specific expensive liquor her father purchased twenty-five years ago to reconcile with his father, but which Miwa accidentally shattered before the meeting. Ryu identifies the missing item as a crystal Kakubin bottle of Suntory whisky. They present this gift to Miwa’s grandfather, Taizo Kurushima, who is deeply impressed by her thoughtfulness and grateful for Ryu’s expertise in fulfilling her request.
