Ep. 23: Gennosuke defeats Tenzen and Oboro protects him from Ofuku’s forces

Tenzen wounds Gennosuke before being beheaded by him. Gennosuke suggests mutual death to end the war, but Oboro and Kagerou plead for their lives. As Gennosuke leaves with Kagerou, she attempts a poisonous kiss, which Oboro neutralizes by opening her eyes. She hides Gennosuke from Ofuku’s retainers seeking Tenzen’s head. Tenzen’s head partially reattaches, revealing Gennosuke’s location, but Oboro halts the regeneration to kill him permanently. Refusing to let Gennosuke be slain, Oboro prompts Ofuku to summon Hattori Hanzo for a final duel.
