Black Jack meets Dr. Shiitake, a skilled but overlooked physician at Manaka Hospital. The institution is in turmoil following the death of its chairman and an embezzlement scandal involving two top doctors arrested for bribery. When a patient arrives injured by fireworks, the hospital cannot afford Black Jack’s high fee. Consequently, Dr. Shiitake is entrusted with the case, allowing him to demonstrate his true medical capabilities. Through this opportunity, he proves his worth and ultimately assumes the role of the new hospital director, rising from obscurity to leadership amidst the crisis.
